A typical stereotype of most Filipinos is that we are great entertainers, especially within the realm of impersonating others. Proof of this is when the band Journey recognized one Filipino in particular named Arnel Pineda. He is from the Philippines and now is the lead singer for Journey.
One of my favorite songs from Journey "Don't Stop Believing" is now being sung by a Filipino. Awesome!!! This song caught my attention when it was on the final episode of The Sopranos. To my amazement Pineda's voice is strong. I had goose bumps from the shock that it is a Filipino person actually singing this number one hit.
Be sure to put Arnel Pineda in the Filipino-American Hall of Fame because he is going to make some waves when Journey tours the United States. Check back often for updates on Pineda. In the meantime, watch the YouTube videos below and compare the old with the new.
